Jul 20, 2009 The Link Between Branding and Raising Capital

Over the weekend I had the opportunity to do a video collaboration with an old pal from high school.  The project lead was Nicholas DiBiase, the captain of cool from local band turned virtual band turned design studio + virtual band, Hepnova.  The topic was supplied by the soon to be relaunched Advisor Garage.  Advisor Garage will be a website targetted primarily at helping uninitiated entrepreneurs get their heads around business terminology and help them sort through all the hats an entrepreneur wears (strategy, operations, finance, HR, and so much more).

The topic at hand is the link between good branding and raising money from investors.  In just 5 minutes we manage to cover the definition of branding, provide 3 examples of various scales, discuss personal branding, and get in a skit!  Special props go to Nicholas for doing an awesome job with the post production.  Incidentally, the seasoned entrepreneurs who frequent our blog may find the discussion to be somewhat simple, but I think it’s always good to have a refresher course in the basics.  So without further delay, here’s the video:
